Hello, I'm Heather

My dog is my best friend, even though my cat thinks differently. I use the words “hella“, “dude“, and “rad” way too much. I think God is awesome. I have seen Jurassic Park an embarrassing amount of times. I decided to take the leap and start my photography business in 2009 and watched my dreams come true. The San Francisco Bay Area has always been my home, but I have that free spirit that randomly likes to take road trips to see all the awesome, crazy, and beautiful things this life has to offer. My passion is creating images that truly make you feel something when you look back on them.

Can you think of another job where you get to be around happy, inspiring people of all different cultures on one of the most intimate days of their lives for a living? I have always been obsessed with shooting portraits since I picked up a camera, and photographing wedding allows me to document the stories of the people I meet.

Some of the most powerful photographs I have seen in my life revolve around real, human emotion. Watching the connections through the fleeting moments that life is. Being able to document a person’s authenticity at that moment of their life has always been my passion. No staging. No trying to force someone into a pose that isn’t them.

I love authentic people. I love authentic art. Together with the two, I love to make some photo magic.

Are you excited for your wedding day? All of the planning is done and you are free to be completely present the experience that is marrying your soul mate. These moments will fly by so fast, and it is my hope that I can document the story of this day so that you may always return back to those feelings you had that day.

I want to get to document the vulnerable moments. The hilarious moments. The pretty things. Your dog who is an honorary member of the bridal party. Your wedding is awesome and unique like no other. I treat each wedding as such.

THE EXPERIENCE

STEP ONE: COFFEE or ZOOM DATE?

What I really love is getting face-to-face time with my clients. I encourage meeting at least once in person at a local coffee shop near me in Pleasanton, California or a convenient zoom call for chatting. Why? Because I feel it's essential for you to know who you're hiring and to make sure you feel confident in your decision to move forward with me.  

A 50% creation fee is due at contract signing. The additional 50% of your balance is due 14 days before the wedding date. Now we can start planning your engagement session (if you choose to do one), talk big wedding day plans and work on your schedule.  The contract can be signed digitally, or we can meet in person for coffee (or drinks! or food. I like yummy things) to make it all official.

STEP TWO: BOOKING

A 50% creation fee is due at contract signing. Your date is secured, and you can officially check off one more thing from your wedding to-do list!  Now we can start planning your engagement session (if you choose to do one), talk big wedding day plans and work on your schedule...

STEP THREE: KEEP IN TOUCH + THE WEDDING

Stay in touch! I love when my clients add me on Facebook and Instagram.  One of the ways I am able to photograph the deep connections in my work is because my couples let me into their world.  Feel free to call(or text!) and e-mail me to ask me any questions. Let’s meet for lunch at the venue to get an idea of how the day is going to go! The more information I have about your wedding and venue, the better I can serve you as your wedding photographer in getting you the most beautiful images that I can for you.

I will arrive on your wedding day, photograph your awesome celebration. In about 6-8 weeks after your wedding, you two can sit down together with a bottle of wine and enjoy your wedding slideshow together! Your full gallery will be delivered as well at this time.

STEP FOUR: ALBUMS AND PRINT ORDERING

Now we can take the time to make sure your photos get PRINTED! After picking your favorites, I will help you find ideas for how to use the art that was created at your wedding. Albums, wall art, individual prints and other creative photo gifts art available.

STEP FIVE: BECOME A LEGACY CLIENT
One of the incredible things about weddings is that I get to be let into these great families that I spend months and months getting to know. So it is something beautiful to photograph wedding clients again in the future for all of your family, newborn, and boudoir photography needs.  And I will comment on all the photos you post of your dog on Instagram. 😉
