One of the things that stood out about Simone’s initial inquiry was that she was getting married at the same place that her grandparents did back in the 1940s, even if it meant a destination wedding in California. As someone that values my own family history around the bay area, I thought it was so incredibly sweet that Simone wanted to pay homage to her grandparents by getting married as well as the Fairmont Claremont Hotel & Spa in Berkley.
The day started off with a quiet morning getting ready, and then an adventure over to the city across the bay, San Francisco! It was important to Merritt and Simone that they had portraits with the Golden Gate Bridge, so we made sure we built a few extra hours into the schedule to make some epic portraits happen on a clear day. Afterward, they returned to Berkley where they exchanged vows and danced the night away with all of their loved ones who flew all the way from Washington D.C. to celebrate. It was a beautiful day indeed.
