These two will always hold a special place in my heart.
I went into this session with a broken heart. I had just lost my beautiful cat, Fanbelt of 11 years. I fought tooth and nail to save him, fed him by spoon and then syringe every day… just to find out in the end it was Liver cancer and I had to let my boy go. He was born right in front of me, and now I had to let him go. It was during Christmas time, so it made it all even worse. To some people it’s just a cat, but that was my editing buddy. On my desk every day and night while I worked. And now he was just gone.
Kelsey and Dave hopped in my car to run around San Francisco for their engagement session. First to Bernel Heights, then to my favorite little spot in the Presidio of San Francisco. Their energy instantly perked my heart up. We followed the mist. Then we followed the light. Then we ran to the view for that last bit of sunlight.
At the end of the shoot, they presented me with the most adorable kitten picture holder for my desk. They had no idea what Fanbelt looked like, but it looked just like him. My little Fat Fanny. And now here he is on my desk again.
The universe and God brings people into your life right when you need them. I needed this day and these people and these images. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in April.
