Nichole and Derrick have such a long, lasting relationship. Three children together and years invested in each other. So when they wanted to celebrate their union together they wanted to have something small and relaxed since they already felt married already.
In the theme of being authentic to them, they also wanted to make their celebration a cannabis themed wedding celebration. Rather than a typical alcohol bar, they had a cannabis bar for their guests to partake in. All the little details they put together for their special day was true to them and their relationship. This was my first experience photographing a first dance that the couple was sharing a joint between the two of them while the music played and it made for some pretty unique imagery.
Small, sweet, and full of beautiful emotions on this beautiful, warm Northern California day.
