The details were beautiful. The location was one of the most stunning homes I had ever seen. The wedding gown was so absolutely perfect.
But it was these incredible humans that made this day stand out so much in my mind. It was standing under under that tree while the lights and shadows danced on us as everyone surrounded Jonathan and Whitney to bless them right before their first kiss. It was Whitney’s darling mother being so excited to have her daughter wear the locket that had been an heirloom in their family for generations. It was listening to the touching words from the people that mattered to the bride and groom come up during the ceremony to represent each value that they felt held a marriage together. It was watching Whitney’s father tear up when he saw his daughter for the first time in her bridal gown right before she became a wife to Jonathan.
In a world full of a lot of chaos, stress, and sadness, taking the day to be around such an incredible, loving group of people was wonderful. I am so grateful that Jonathan and Whitney invited me to come out to this beautiful location in Healdsburg to photograph their wedding. And let me also give a thanks to the copious amounts of my fellow Castro Valley High Alumni for collectively telling Jonathan I had become way more awesome than I was when we were in Mrs.Daily’s drama class.
